Knowledge is Power

If, as they say, "knowledge is power," then Jackie's work through the Marcella Project has empowered me, unlike any other organization or group I've been part of. No matter the topic, Jackie's approach of fidelity to the language, context, and culture of Scripture has not only given me a new perspective on long-held perspectives but also, just as importantly, taught me new ways of reading Scripture.

Recently, her three-part reading and discussion series steered me toward Jesus and John Wayne. This book helped me understand, in a life-changing way, my experience growing up in both the church and in a conservative parochial school. Things that never made sense finally fit together like pieces of a puzzle! Critically reading this book gave me insight into our current cultural and political context, helping me navigate an incredibly stressful season.

Because Jackie is willing to question that which is assumed or taken for granted, and because she is regularly on the cutting-edge of inquiry, my thinking and faith has expanded immeasurably.

I am proud to serve Jackie and The Marcella Project as a board member and could not be more enthusiastic about the Expand Our Reach campaign in 2021. I implore you to join me in supporting this work now before the year ends.

Let's empower more men and women with the knowledge that changes thinking and actions.
